These trips are more challenging and require a higher level of fitness and experience. They are led by experienced leaders who ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Back Packing Back packing involves carrying all necessary equipment and supplies in a backpack and camping overnight in the wilderness. These trips are suitable for those who enjoy the challenge of self-sufficiency and are experienced in bushwalking. Other Outdoor Activities In addition to bushwalking, the club offers a range of outdoor activities. Members can participate in urban walks, cycling, canoeing, and conservation work.
These activities provide opportunities to explore different environments and engage with nature in various ways. Socials The club organises regular social gatherings throughout the year. These events allow members to connect, share experiences, and build friendships outside the walking activities. Training The club offers a training programme in bushwalking skills for members who want to further develop their knowledge and abilities. Prospective new members are required to participate in two full-day walks within three months before their membership is approved. This requirement ensures that new members have a chance to experience and understand the activities and expectations of the club. To try out bushwalking with the club, interested individuals can join the Newcomers' Walk organised by the club or attend a regular club walk on any weekend.
These walks provide an opportunity to meet current members, ask questions, and get a feel for the club's activities and culture.
