About
Mareeba Junior Rugby League has continued to be an area of growth and in 2013 the Clubs 200 players aged 5 to 17 years joined the Cairns District Junior Rugby League (CDJRL) competition increasing our children’s pathway and opportunity in junior rugby league.
MJRL endeavours to assist our local children to become physically active, learn important life skills about team work, leadership, discipline, personal confidence and skill development.
The Clubhouse and playing fields are located at Davies Park in Doyle Street, Mareeba and are shared with the Mareeba Gladiators senior teams. Training days are Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 6pm.
Meetings are generally held monthly at the Davies Park Clubhouse starting at 5. 30pm and everyone is invited to attend. The Committee is always looking for new members and this is where parents can have their say and offer new ideas.
Mareeba JRL is registered for the ‘Get Started’ funding programme organised by the Queensland Government. ‘Get Started’ assists players who can least afford or may otherwise benefit from joining a sporting club. Eligible children and young people can apply on line for a voucher valued up to $150 which can be redeemed by the Club. The next round will open in early 2016.
