Malice Springs Roller Derby League was born in a stinking hot central Australian cauldron of love, fury, passion and outback spark. In the beginning there were merely a determined few, learning to skate on long abandoned disco skates in bug-ridden carparks at night. Word soon spread that the roller derby fever sweeping the nation had arrived in the Red Centre, and now we are an established league!
We train the YMCA on Tuesdays (6. 30-8. 30pm) and Sundays (3. 30-5.
30pm). Costs are $10 per session, $25 for Malice Springs membership, and $5 for gear hire. Insurance from Skate Australia will cover skaters for their first three sessions, and after that will be $65 for fresh meat.
