Long Reef Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) is a sports club located on the beautiful Long Reef Beach in Sydney. The beach is partly protected by an offshore reef to the north, creating an ideal environment for swimming and various water-based activities.
The club has recently moved into a new clubhouse, which members are very excited about. The previous temporary clubhouse, affectionately known as “The Shed,” has been dismantled, and the site has been returned to its original state.
Long Reef SLSC has received a lot of interest from community members who wish to hire their upstairs function room for events. To find out more information and submit a booking request, interested parties can visit the Venue Hire Enquiry page on the club's website.
The club offers a variety of activities and events for members to get involved in. These include Nippers, Cadets, Patrols, and Training. The Nippers season runs from 21 October 2023 to 9 March 2024, providing children with the opportunity to learn and develop beach and water skills in a safe and fun environment. Cadets is another programme available for older children to participate in.
The Patrols programme ensures the safety of beachgoers and operates from 23 September 2023 to 28 April 2024.
Long Reef SLSC also offers a range of SLSA trainings and awards, allowing members to improve their surf life-saving skills. Surf Sports is available for those who enjoy participating in various surf sports activities with like-minded individuals.
In addition to these activities, the club also offers Yoga classes and has a state-of-the-art gym. The Yoga classes are taught by three different providers, and booking links will soon be added to the club's website. The gym is available for free to all patrolling members of Long Reef SLSC.
For those interested in Pilates, the club holds a Pilates class every Tuesday morning. It is open to both members and non-members, and details can be obtained by contacting Long Reef SLSC via email.
