The Loddon District Police Trap Club was founded onthe 3rd of June 1981 by a keen group of clay target shooters at the Bendigo Police Station. The club was formed initially with intention of conducting the inaugural Australian Police Nation Trapshooting Championships.
These Championships have proved so successful that they are still being conducted annually as the Australasian Police & Services Clay Target Championships. Today every Australian State Police Force, the Federal Police, New Zealand Police and the Australian and New Zealand Armed Services compete. These Championships have been held in all Australian States, Australian Capital Territory, New Zealand and Norfolk Island.
The Loddon DistrictPolice Trap Club has been represented at all theChampionships since their inception.
The Club also hosts the Victoria Police Trap and Skeet Championships annually.
The club has a small but keen following of policemembers and a large associate member base thatsupport, represent and promote the club at numerousshooting events in Victoria, National and Internationallevels.
The club conducts its monthly shoot on the lastWednesday of every month at the Bendigo ClayTarget Club, 551 Bendigo- Pyramid Rd, Woodvale. These shoots commence at 3. 00 pm and experienced, and novice shooters are most welcome. Serving Police members, ex members and the public are welcomed as members.
