Our club is affiliated with South Sydney District Rugby League and has been since the early 1940s. We are synonymous with the communities of Aboriginal and non Aboriginal throughout the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, and our club is proudly united with all races playing under the banner of La Perouse. Over the years we have boasted some fine sports people, and this has helped us within the club to have great pride in the colours of La Perouse. Many of the players to pull on the jumper or to be associated with us are league players, Keith Holman, Eric Simms, Kevin (Lummy) Longbottom, Bruce (La Pa) Stewart, Paul Sait, George Longbottom, Graham Lyons, Ross Harrington, Bruce Longbottom, Corey Stewart, Russell Fairfax, Nathan Gibbs, Gavin Lester, Fred Briggs, Sean Garlick, Nathan Peats, Adam Reynolds and Alex Johnson.
Rugby Union players Mark, Glen, and Gary Ella and Lloyd Walker. Other athletes include boxers Jack Hassen, Les Davison, Kevin, and Glen Kelly and Jamie Withers, cricketer Michael Whitney and Olympic Decathlete John Cann. As you can see there is a wealth of talent from the past and there is an abundance of talent for the future coming through our juniors. Our home ground is Yarra Oval and at times it provides the most spartan of conditions in winter under which we train.
We cater for all age groups, from, U/5's right up to the finest “A” grade. You can guarantee that every Sunday someone in somebodies family is playing for La Perouse. These are the times that most people catch up with some of our communities news, and it can also lead up to staying in touch with our youth.
