Knox Roadrunners is a prominent sports club located in Melbourne, Australia. Founded in February 1987, our club has stood the test of time, with some of our original members still running regularly with us. Currently, we have approximately 100 members ranging in age from 20 to 70+ years, ensuring a diverse and inclusive community. We are proud to have seen a significant increase in female runners in recent years, making up around 40% of our membership.
Every Saturday morning, bright and early (unless a pandemic interferes), we gather as a group to tackle a course ranging from 10 to 35 kilometres. For those who prefer shorter distances, there are always options to tailor the run to individual needs. Our club boasts a wide range of abilities, with some members capable of completing sub 3-hour marathons, while others are beginners or recovering athletes running at a slower pace. We prioritise the sense of fellowship over individual performance but always make sure to celebrate each other's achievements.
Beyond our weekly runs, Knox Roadrunners also organises various events and races throughout the year to keep members engaged and motivated. From fun runs to marathons, there's something for everyone to participate in and enjoy.
