Kiama Little Athletics is a well-established sports club located in Kiama, Australia. The club was formed in 1979 and is registered with Little Athletics NSW. It is the 114th Little Athletics Centre in the state and has been providing opportunities for young athletes to participate in athletics activities for over 40 years.
The club caters to children as young as 3 years old in the Tiny Tots category and has age groups ranging from U/6 to U/17. The Little Athletics season starts in September and concludes in March, offering a comprehensive programme for athletes to develop their skills and participate in various events.
The club's weekly competitions are held at the Kiama Sports Complex, located at Havilah Place in Kiama. At the beginning of the season, due to limited lighting, Saturday mornings are used for competitions, starting at 9:00am. However, after Daylight Saving commences, competitions shift to Friday evenings, starting at 5:30pm.
Kiama Little Athletics has a dedicated committee composed of passionate volunteers who actively promote Little Athletics within the local community. These committee members work tirelessly to provide athletes with top-quality equipment and facilities to enhance their sporting experience.
The club encourages all athletes to participate in carnivals organised by other Little Athletics Centres. Information about upcoming events and competitions is regularly updated on the club's website and noticeboard during competitions.
In addition to its regular activities, the club also participates in the Mid South Coast Zone Championships. Kiama Little Athletics is part of the zone that includes six other Centres, namely Albion Park, Lake Illawarra, Milton Ulladulla, Shoalhaven, and St Georges Basin. Each season, the Zone Championships take place at a different Centre within the zone. The club covers the cost of entry for its members.
Athletes from U/7 and up are eligible to compete in this event, providing an opportunity for them to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience.
Kiama Little Athletics also offers a Tiny Tots programme for children aged 3 to 5 years old. This programme introduces young children to basic athletics skills in a fun and supportive environment.
