Welcome to the Kiama Cavaliers Cricket Club, the pride of Kiama, Australia. With a strong tradition of cricketing excellence, the Cavaliers are known as the Cavalier Kingdom, a fitting title for a team that continues to dominate the cricketing scene in the region.
The club has a deep appreciation for the support provided by the Kiama Leagues Club, who have been the major sponsor of the Cavs for many years. By linking their leagues club membership to the Cavs, supporters can actively contribute to the viability of cricket in Kiama. The club is grateful for this ongoing partnership.
For young cricket enthusiasts, the Cavaliers offer a revamped Woolworths Cricket Blast programme. Open to 5-9 year olds, this programme takes place at the picturesque Black Beach Oval, featuring a brand new centre wicket. Participants can learn basic cricket skills, make friends, and play games under the guidance of experienced coaches and 1st graders. Families and parents are encouraged to get involved, and the local Kiama Woolworths provides sponsorship, ensuring the success of the programme.
The club's junior teams have been making waves in the cricketing world. The Junior Girls team secured their second leadingship in the 22/23 season, participating in a combined south coast and Illawarra competition. Impressive development and team spirit were the hallmarks of their success. Additionally, the U15s team clinched consecutive premierships, displaying exceptional teamwork and creating lasting memories.
The Kiama Cavaliers take great pride in the achievements of their young players. The following players have been selected to represent the South Coast District Cricket Association and Greater Illawarra regional teams: Blake Mackrell, Ben Fredericks, Joe Burgess, Charlie Edwards, Kode Lawler, Lucas DelOrefice, Cameron Fredericks, Nick Heinecke, Jonothan Yeo, Zane Ward, and Sam Huetter. These young Cavs have shown great promise and are a testament to the club's dedication to nurturing talent.
In the First Grade, Kiama Cavaliers celebrated a notable victory over Lake Illawarra, securing a long-awaited title. It had been nearly four decades since the team last won a top-grade leadingship in 1984. This victory marked a significant milestone for the club, showcasing the determination and skill of the first-grade players.
To show their support for the Cavaliers, fans can grab their official merchandise from the club's online store. Whether it's jerseys, caps, or other accessories, the Cavs Merchandise store is always open. Pick-up options are available at Cavalier Park during most senior grade training sessions, making it convenient for supporters to showcase their team spirit.
