Kia Ora Pony Club

Kia Ora pony club grounds are situated at Tom Beutel Park which is on Anderleigh Road, approx 20 minutes north-east of Gympie.

The Club was founded around 1980 when a group of locals decided to start a riding group for children on what was then a short bush racetrack for Quarter horse racing located on private property.

In 1984, Widgee shire Council purchased a piece of ground near the local State School to set up a Sports and Recreation area.

The locals started a Cricket Club and a concrete pitch was laid, and the Pony Club used only half of the original grounds.

Kia Ora is the northernmost Club on The Sunshine Coast Region known as Zone 6. It has a total of approximately 30 – Junior, Senior and Social members.

With help of Grant Funds we were able to purchase a complete set of jumping and novelty equipment as well as 2 complete dressage arenas.
