Kobberskruiserklub@hotmail. Com The Kobbers Kruiser Klub is a sports club in Brisbane that is dedicated to riders of Japanese and European cruiser motorcycles. Established over 20 years ago, the club welcomes both male and female riders of all levels of ability and experience. With members spread across the east coast of Australia, the Kobbers Kruiser Klub provides a community for enthusiasts who share a passion for cruiser bikes and riding.
The club organises regularly scheduled rides and activities, running a 6-month ride calendar to help members plan ahead. Experienced Ride Coordinators lead each ride to various destinations, covering distances ranging from 200 to 400 kilometres. Ample time is provided for breaks and lunch, allowing riders to socialise and chat with fellow members.
In addition to rides, the Kobbers Kruiser Klub also hosts social activities such as BBQ and dinner rides, weekends away, and occasional longer trips where members have the opportunity to meet up with riders from other states. The highlight of the club's year is the National AGM held in October in Sawtell, Northern NSW, attracting members from all over Australia for a grand celebration.
The club's name, “kobbers,” is a colloquial term meaning “mates” in Australian English. The Kobbers Kruiser Klub prides itself in fostering a sense of camaraderie and looking out for one another to ensure everyone's safe arrival at their destinations. While the club boasts some riders with impressive bikes, there are no bad attitudes amongst the members. The primary goal is to have fun and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow riders.
New members are always welcome to join the Kobbers Kruiser Klub. Prospective members are encouraged to attend four rides and two club meetings to experience the club's atmosphere and determine if it is the right fit for them. To be eligible for membership, individuals must ride a cruiser motorcycle and possess a valid and current motorcycle licence. Once the eligibility criteria are met, individuals can apply for membership at a monthly meeting, where their application will be processed, and if accepted, they will be provided with the club patch and insignia, officially welcoming them to the club.
The Kobbers Kruiser Klub offers two levels of membership: full member (rider) and associate member (non-rider). New membership fees for full members are $90, while associate members pay $80. Annual renewals are $40 and $30 for full and associate members, respectively.
To maintain membership, members are required to attend a minimum of six rides and four meetings per year, wear the club patch and insignia with pride on an approved vest during club rides and events, possess a valid and current motorcycle licence, and abide by the club's rules and constitution at all times.
Overall, the Kobbers Kruiser Klub provides a welcoming community for cruiser motorcycle enthusiasts in Brisbane and beyond. With a focus on camaraderie, fun, and safe riding, the club offers a range of activities and events that cater to riders of all skill levels.
