Jingellic Pony Club is a vibrant sports club located in the beautiful Greater Hume Shire Council region in Australia. Situated on the banks of the picturesque Mighty Murray River at the Tintaldra Recreation Reserve, the club offers a unique and scenic setting for equestrian enthusiasts.
Originally founded in the late 1950s and early 1960s during the early days of the Pony Club movement in Australia, Jingellic Pony Club has a rich history and a commitment to promoting horsemanship and horsemastership among its members. After a brief hiatus, the club reformed in 2012 and has since grown with a dedicated group of riding members ranging from 3 to 21 years old.
At Jingellic Pony Club, the main objective is to encourage young people to ride and participate in a wide variety of horse-related sports. The club provides coaching and competition opportunities to its members, aiming to raise awareness of sportsmanship, citizenship, and proper animal care. The ultimate goal is to help riders become proficient in their chosen sport while cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.
The club's members have the opportunity to participate in events and competitions throughout Zone 20, as well as in other Zones within New South Wales and Victoria. Disciplines include Gymkhanas, Showjumping and Jumping Equitation, Campdrafting, Dressage, Showriding, Mounted Games, and One Day Events, among others. Jingellic Pony Club's riders have achieved great results while representing Zone 20 at the state level.
Rallies are held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, offering a variety of disciplines for members to explore, including Showjumping, Dressage, Sporting, Flatwork, and horse welfare. The club also invites guest instructors throughout the year to provide additional training in disciplines such as Challenges, Horse Soccer, Musical Rides, Equine Health, Tent Pegging, and Vaulting.
Membership is open to riders up to the age of 25, with Pony Club NSW recently introducing the ability for open riders over the age of 25 to join and compete. Becoming a member of Jingellic Pony Club allows riders to meet new friends, learn new skills, receive instruction from qualified coaches, and compete in a safe and supportive environment. Most importantly, it guarantees a lot of fun!
Jingellic Pony Club prides itself on its vibrant purple and white colours, reflecting the club's spirit and enthusiasm. The club is excited to welcome new members and invites anyone interested in equestrian sports to join. With the club's welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, Jingellic Pony Club promises a rewarding and enjoyable experience for riders of all ages and skill levels.
