Janelle's Academy of Dance

Janelle's Academy of Dance is a renowned sports club located in Yeppoon, Australia, offering a comprehensive programme for young dancers. 1. Ballet: The ballet programme begins with the Tiny Tots class for ages 3-4, emphasising creative movement. It progresses to Pre-primary/Primary Ballet for ages 4-8, Grade 1 Ballet for ages 5-7, Grade 2 Ballet for ages 6-9, Grade 3 Ballet for ages 8-12 (requiring two classes per week), Grade 4 Ballet for ages 9 and up (with emphasis on pointe preparation), and Grade 5 Ballet for ages 10 and up (requiring three classes per week and focusing on pointe technique). The academy also offers Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced One Ballet classes for ages 11 and up, with an emphasis on examinations.

2. BBO Modern Jazz: These classes incorporate traditional and modern music, exploring movements that require core strength, flexibility, high energy, and dynamic movements. Students learn warm-up and stretching movements, as well as develop fitness through high-energy movements. Examinations are available from Grade 1 to Advanced 2.

3. BBO Tap: This popular dance form covers a range of styles from traditional to modern tap. Students have the opportunity to explore different rhythms and get creative with their movements. Tap classes are provided from Primary to Advanced 2, with examinations available.

In addition to regular classes, Janelle's Academy of Dance provides performance opportunities for students who wish to compete in eisteddfod competitions. The academy offers performance teams for different age groups, including 9 years and under, 12 years and under, and 13 years and over. These teams rehearse weekly, focusing on teamwork and developing a strong performance quality.
