Ipswich Dog Obedience Club Inc. (IDOC) was formed in 1964, known then as the Ipswich All Breeds Dog Obedience Club. For the first thirty-two years the club trained at Cameron Park, Glebe Road, Silkstone. In 1996 we moved to Mt Crosby Rd, Tivoli, which is now our permanent home.
The Club is continuously growing with a present day membership exceeding 300. As a club we hold numerous Obedience, Agility and RallyO trials at our grounds throughout the year. We also conduct an Endurance Trial once a year.
In the flood of January 2011, IDOC suffered a devastating blow. Our grounds were inundated with water and the water level rose almost three metres above the roof of our clubhouse. We lost everything. We were able to rebuild thanks to the tireless efforts of a small group of our members and our committee who gave up many hours of their precious time to recover both the grounds and the clubhouse.
There were also many donations from various bodies (too numerous to mention here) both corporate and individual without whom we would not be up and running today.
Our aim now is to continue to provide a quality community service and to turn our club into a bigger and better group, increasing both our memberhsip and the participation of our members.
We hope that all will feel welcome, and we want to encourage you to achieve whatever it is you have set out to do. Our experienced instructors and committee are always there to help and welcome you to our club providing the help and advice you seek to establish a companionship with your four legged friend.
We regularly hold working bees and appreciate any help at these or at our trials. We always need stewards, help with ring set-up and help with the canteen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We look forward to having you join us.
