Introduced to ballet and contemporary dance and fell in love with these styles. I furthered my training by completing a Certificate IV in Dance and working as a dance teacher assistant at Hume Dance School. I then continued my studies and completed a Diploma in Dance teaching and Management. Furthermore, I have been teaching at Hume Dance School for over 10 years and have a passion for nurturing and inspiring young dancers.
At Hume Dance School, we offer a range of dance styles including theatrical and ballroom classes. Our experienced and creative teachers ensure that each student gets the most out of every lesson and leaves with a smile on their face. We have studios in both Albury and Culcairn to cater to all ages and stages in life.
Our school operates for the love of dancing, and our aim is to help our students love dance as much as we do. We offer the experience of dance with suitably qualified teachers at a competitive price. We also offer private lessons for those who wish to further their dance technique and develop their unique dance skills or participate in dance competitions throughout the year.
Each year, we have a mid-year concert held in June and an end-of-year concert in November to showcase our students' hard work and progress. These concerts are a great opportunity for students to perform and gain confidence on stage.
At Hume Dance School, we provide a safe and supervised environment for all students. We prioritise the fun and enjoyment of dance for all participants. We expect students and parents to treat all teachers, students, and staff with respect. Any disrespectful behaviour may result in the cancellation of enrolment.
While generally parents are discouraged from watching class sessions to maintain student engagement, exceptions can be made for first-time dancers and toddler classes. Please contact our staff if you wish to watch a class.
We are proud of our dedicated and supportive staff at Hume Dance School. Bec Grulke, the owner and director, has years of experience in dance and has performed as a soloist in international tours. Ruth Grulke, our admin manager and teacher, has extensive dancing experience and a passion for nurturing young dancers.
