Holroyd Little Athletics Inc is a sports club located in Sydney, Australia. Established as the sixth Little Athletics Centre in New South Wales, Holroyd has a rich history and is proud to be a member of the Mid-West Metropolitan Zone and Region 7. The club recently celebrated its 50th year during the 2020-2021 season, honouring the many members who have been a part of the club over the years.
Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian sport for children aged 4–16 years. It is based on track and field events but modified to suit the ages and abilities of children. Holroyd Little Athletics offers a wide range of running, jumping, throwing, and walking events, providing young athletes with the opportunity to develop their skills and enjoy the sport.
Throughout the summer sports season, approximately 40,000 boys and girls across New South Wales participate in Little Athletics. At Holroyd, events are conducted on a weekly basis and include track sprints (70m, 100m, 200m), distance races (400m, 800m, 1500m, 3 km), hurdles, walks, field jumps (long jump, triple jump, high jump), and throws (shot put, discus, javelin).
At Holroyd Little Athletics Centre, the safety and well-being of our athletes are paramount. We are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all participants. We closely monitor the conduct of athletes and parents to ensure a positive and respectful atmosphere both on and off the track. Furthermore, we adhere to the Little Athletics NSW Code of Conduct and Behavioural Guidelines to maintain high standards of behaviour among our members and encourage sportsmanship.
Training is an essential component of athletic development, and at Holroyd Little Athletics, we offer free training throughout the season. Training sessions are conducted by qualified coaching staff and parent volunteers who are passionate about helping athletes improve. Hitting the track on Friday nights at 6:00 p. m. sharp, with coaching sessions on Mondays at 5:30 p. m.
