The Highlands Football Referees Association (HFRA) is a sports club based in Bowral-Mittagong that focuses on providing qualified and skilled referees for football matches. The association works closely with the Highlands Soccer Association (HSA) and the Highlands Soccer Referees Association (HSRA) to ensure fair play and sportsmanship in football games throughout the region.
Led by President Garry George and Secretary Rod McDonald, the HFRA is committed to upholding the integrity of the sport by providing highly trained and knowledgeable referees. The HFRA strongly believes in the development of its referees and offers various coaching and training opportunities. It works closely with the HSA to provide community coaching courses and hosts regular training sessions for referees to enhance their skills and knowledge of the game. The association also offers mentorship programmes to support new referees in their journey.
In addition to its commitment to providing qualified referees, the HFRA actively participates in community initiatives. It organises events such as the MiniRoos Holiday Clinic, providing young football enthusiasts with the opportunity to enhance their skills and learn from experienced coaches. The association also offers representative programmes for girls and women, aiming to foster talent and promote gender equality in the sport.
For convenience and accessibility, the HFRA utilises the GameDay App, allowing members to stay updated with match results, fixtures, and stats. The association also offers event ticketing services through GameDay Events & Ticketing, ensuring a seamless experience for participants and attendees.
