GEMSA is a friendly, family orientated association which offers softball teams and competitions for the whole family.
The Glen Eira Moorabbin Softball Association (formerly known as the Moorabbin Youth Club Netball and Softball Association) was formed in 1970 by teachers to promote females playing sport. It is an association that continues to build upon the rich culture and long history of our founding clubs: Coatesville, Eastmoor, Ormond East, South Moorabbin and Moorabbin West. We are proud of our long history of female success and achievement. Nevertheless we are an inclusive, family club and also welcome and celebrate the participation of men and boys.
GEMSA is the only softball club providing opportunities to participate to the demographically attractive South East Melbourne local government areas of Glen Eira, Bayside and Stonnington.
GEMSA is affiliated with both Softball Victoria and Softball Australia and provides development pathways to elite level for boys and girls. Australia produces world-class softball teams at international level, with all the four national teams (Open Women and U19 Women, and Open Men and Under 19 Men) frequently medalling in World Championship level competitions over the last 20 years.
