The club was formed in 1992 after a group of friends who were interested in bushwalking decided to form a club in the Caboolture/Glasshouse Mountains area north of Brisbane. As there was already a bushwalking group in Caboolture, the club decided to call itself the Glasshouse Bushwalkers Club, and incorporated the following year.
The club objectives are:
1. To promote fellowship through bushwalking;
2. To promote interaction between people of all walks of life;
3. To promote bushwalking in the Caboolture/ Glasshouse Mountains areas.
The club aims to provide walks that are in a friendly and sociable atmosphere so that bushwalking can be enjoyed. There are also opportunities to learn more about the skills in bushwalking, like map reading, bush navigation, abseiling, and rescues.
