Welcome to Gladstone Gymnastics! Located in Gladstone, Queensland, the Gladstone Gymnastics Club is a sports club that offers programmes for individuals of all ages and genders. From 6 months of age to our oldest member at 84 years old, we cater to both experienced gymnasts looking for a competitive approach and those who are new to gymnastics and want to learn the sport recreationally. Our Club prides itself on its diverse programme choices, making it our greatest strength.
One of our programmes is Kindergym, which is specifically designed for children under 5 years of age and their caregiver. In Kindergym, parents, children, and coaches work together to create a fun, safe, and structured environment where children can learn the basics of gymnastics and develop a love for physical movement. This programme focuses on teaching fundamental life and physical movement skills, including motor skills, strength and coordination, cognitive development, social development, and confidence.
Our recreational programme is suitable for children of all ages and abilities. It is a developmental programme that starts with teaching fundamental gymnastic skills and progresses to more specific and difficult gymnastic elements. Whether your child is just starting out or wants to improve their skills, our recreational programme offers a supportive and educational environment.
For those interested in competitive gymnastics, we offer programmes for Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), and Acrobatic Gymnastics. These performance teams focus on acquiring important skills for success in gymnastics and in life. In addition, we have social gymnastic programmes that build on our recreational programme, emphasising the development of specific gymnastic skills and providing social and competitive opportunities for lifelong participation.
Established in 1977 by Anna Turetschek, the Gladstone Gymnastics Club started small with just 12 female gymnasts and minimal equipment. However, over the years, the club has grown and is now located in one of Queensland's leading sporting facilities, offering gymnastics education to the entire region. Our success is a testament to the dedication and support of our members, families, and the wider Gladstone community.
At Gladstone Gymnastics, our philosophy centres around empowering all members and gymnasts of all ability levels to safely progress at their own pace. We use our unique Steps curriculum, an innovative and world-class gymnastic venue, and passionate and professional coaches to provide a clear pathway for each individual's development.
