Gerringong ia a seaside village of about 2500 people, about 1. 5 hours south of Sydney, just past Kiama. It still has a dairy industry but the number of farma is diminishing, with tourism and wineries on the increase.
Cricket has been played in Gerringong for more than 100 years. In the days when roads and transport were difficult, there was a competition played between 4 teams from around the area. In 1946, the South Coast District Cricket Association was formed, and in 1947 Gerringong won the first 1st grade competition played. Since then 6 other senior prenierships have come our way, with the last being in 4th Grade in 1999.
Although only a small town we have managed 3 club championships. We have been unable to compete with the boonong population up north around Albion Park and Shellharbour, but have continued to grow into possibly the biggest sporting organisation, members wise, in Gerringong.
