The German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria – Ballarat Branch is located at Morshead Park, Cnr Pleasant & Rubicon Street, Ballarat. The club offers training sessions on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. On Sundays, training starts at 9:00am during daylight savings and 10:00am for the rest of the year. Wednesday night training for puppies begins at 6:00pm, while training for older dogs starts at 7:00pm.
Training at the Ballarat Branch focuses on positive, reward-based, motivational training that is fun for both dogs and their owners. The training covers obedience, tracking, and agility, allowing dogs to develop various skills and behaviours. Owners will learn how to socialise their dogs with other canines, teach them commands like sit, drop, stand, and recall, as well as walk calmly and heel. Problem-solving and meeting other German Shepherd Dog owners and their puppies are also part of the training experience.
After training sessions, participants can enjoy tasty food and drinks at the canteen facilities and take part in various social events organised throughout the year. The club aims to promote responsible ownership and aims for German Shepherd Dogs to become well-behaved canine citizens.
The Ballarat Branch of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria encourages a friendly and supportive environment for both dogs and their owners.
