Gawler Little Athletics Centre is a sports club located in Gawler, South Australia. The club offers a safe and friendly environment with a family focus, aiming to provide children between the ages of 3 and 17 with the opportunity to participate in athletics and develop their physical, social, and emotional well-being.
The club's official 2018-2019 season will open on Sunday, October 14th. Every week, athletes are invited to join the club on Sunday mornings at the 'back (North) oval' at Trinity College, off of Alexander Avenue. Warm-up begins at 9:15am, with events starting at 9:30am.
The club offers a Tiny Tots programme specifically designed for young children. However, for the upcoming season, a Tiny Tot Coordinator was not elected. The club encourages interested individuals to contact Emma via email (GAW@salaa. org.
au) if they are interested in taking on this role.
Gawler Little Athletics Centre extends a warm welcome to new members taking on committee roles this year. However, the club is always in need of the support of new volunteers. Those interested in helping the club can join as a general committee member and then take on additional roles as desired. The club encourages individuals to come and chat with them if they are interested in volunteering or have any questions or suggestions.
To register, both new athletes and returning athletes from last year must complete the online registration process and payment. Fees for this year start at $135 for the first child or for Tiny Tots, with small discounts applying to additional age group athletes. The club is also registered for the 'Sports Voucher' scheme, providing a saving of $50 for primary school-aged children. It's important to note that vouchers are only redeemable for primary school-aged children.
Participating in athletics at Gawler Little Athletics Centre allows children to develop physical skills, social skills, and improve their mental and emotional well-being. The club emphasises participation, personal improvement, and being the best version of oneself. Athletes of all abilities are given the opportunity to learn and grow at their own pace.
Communication is essential to the success of the club, and they encourage anyone with questions or concerns to contact them either on meet days or via email. The majority of their communication is done through Team App, and they encourage individuals to download and subscribe to stay informed about club activities and updates.
Overall, Gawler Little Athletics Centre offers a supportive and inclusive environment for children to participate in athletics and develop their skills, friendships, and self-confidence.
