Fremantle Masters Swimming Club

Fremantle Masters Swimming Club, also known as Freo Fins, is a vibrant and inclusive Masters swimming club located in Fremantle, Perth. With approximately 135 members, Freo Fins welcomes adults of all ages and abilities to join their community of swimmers dedicated to fun, fitness, and friendship.

The Club offers a range of activities and events throughout the year. Training sessions are held three times per week at the Fremantle Leisure Centre 50m Outdoor Pool. Led by qualified masters' swimming coaches, these sessions focus on improving stroke technique and fitness. After Tuesday and Thursday night sessions, members gather for a post-swim drink at Clancy's, and Saturday morning sessions are followed by coffee at a local café.

In addition to regular training sessions, Freo Fins organises various events and competitions. One of the highlights is the Fremantle Ports Swim Thru, held in December. Participants can choose from three distances – 3. 2 km, 1.

6 km, and a beginner-friendly 250m Try It swim. The Club also hosts an annual Club Carnival, inviting other Masters Swimming WA clubs to compete in a variety of events, followed by food and awards. Outside the pool, Freo Fins organises social events, with the Christmas breakfast being the highlight of the year.

Fremantle Masters Swimming Club not only promotes swimming for fitness but also encourages its members to develop skills in coaching, officiating, and administration. The club actively participates in coaching programmes and provides opportunities for those interested in becoming coaches or officials.

Membership at Freo Fins is currently limited due to an increase in numbers and limited pool lane availability. However, those interested in joining can contact the club to be placed on a waiting list. New memberships will become available in the new year if spaces become available. Alternatively, they can consider contacting other local clubs, such as the Melville Marlins or Cockburn Masters.
