Frankston Skate Park Skateboard Club is for kids aged 6 – 12, and includes weekly coaching over an eight week period. Skate Club runs through the spring/summer, starting in October and ending in December. The club is run like any other sports team, with compulsory weekly training sessions with a professional coach that will help kids further develop their skill, technique, and style whilst working to improve their trick set. The skate club is a great place for kids to meet other young skateboard enthusiasts and make some great friends, all whilst honing their own skills and taking their craft to another level.
The programme runs for eight weeks with after school training from 4pm – 6pm. At the end of the programme participants will receive a Victorian Skateboarding Association (VSA) level one certificate, as well as being given the opportunity to compete in the South Eastern League skateboard competition. The YMCA is now taking enrolments for the Frankston Skate Club, and dates for training sessions will be advised closer to the commencement of the programme.
