Welcome to the Fox Terrier Club of NSW! Founded in 1910, the club is dedicated to promoting and celebrating the two varieties of Fox Terriers: Smooth and Wire. The Smooth Fox Terriers come in two colours – White & Black or White & Tan, while the Wire Fox Terriers have a harsh coat that can be either predominantly white with black markings, predominantly white with black and tan markings, or predominantly white with tan markings.
The club is led by a team of dedicated office bearers, including President Olive Black, Vice-President Debbie Landsdowne, and Secretary Mrs. Tina Stathos. The club's committee includes members such as Michelle Proud, Ern Fuller, Cecilia Todorovitch, and Margaret Withers. Wendy Brown serves as the Newsletter Editor.
Meetings of the Fox Terrier Club of NSW are held every second month at the Rooty Hill Senior Citizen's Hall in South Rooty Hill. The meetings commence at 7:30pm and are held in February, April, June, August (AGM), October, and December (Christmas Party). All members are invited to attend the meetings and participate in the activities.
The club organises two Championship Shows each year, one on Easter Saturday and the other on the first Saturday in October. Following the shows, there is a prize-giving ceremony and afternoon tea for all members to enjoy. In addition to these shows, the club also hosts a Christmas party and a “Fun Day” in the middle of the year, where members gather for a BBQ and participate in games and activities with their Fox Terriers.
The Fox Terrier Club of NSW actively participates in various events such as Pet Expo and The Pets Day Out. Moreover, in 2005, the club hosted the Fox Terrier National Breed Show.
For those interested in acquiring a Fox Terrier puppy, enquiries can be directed to Olive Black at (02) 9651 3396. The club can also be reached via email.
The club's website provides information on Fox Terrier breeders in the area, the club's shows, the breed standards, and the rich history of Fox Terriers. Additionally, the website includes a section featuring adorable pet pictures and a link to return to the home page.
If you're passionate about Fox Terriers or are considering getting one as a pet, the Fox Terrier Club of NSW is the perfect place to connect with fellow enthusiasts and learn more about these wonderful dogs.
