Football Dalby is a sports club located in Western Downs Regional, Australia. It is the home of the Dalby Tigers (Soccer) and is situated at the Dalby PCYC off Cooper Street. Football Dalby is affiliated with Football Federation Australia, Football Queensland, and Football Queensland South West, ensuring high-quality standards and a commitment to the sport.
The club boasts two senior teams - Dalby Men and Dalby Ladies. The Dalby Ladies team was the Division 1 Runners Up in 2017. Both senior teams compete in the Toowoomba Football League Competition, with matches taking place at home as well as in Chinchilla, Toowoomba, Gatton, High Fields, Withcott, and other surrounding areas. The season runs from the beginning of March to mid-September, offering an exciting and competitive football experience for players and spectators alike.
Football Dalby also has a vibrant and thriving junior programme, catering to approximately 130 juniors aged from Under 6 through to Under 16. Juniors must turn 5 before registering. The juniors participate in both internal games against other Dalby teams and fixtures against teams from Football Chinchilla. Generally, juniors play alternative weeks in Dalby and Chinchilla.
The junior season aligns with terms 2 and 3 of the school year, allowing for increased participation and skill development.
Not only does Football Dalby focus on local competitions, but it also provides opportunities for juniors to participate in representative football. This includes playing in carnivals at surrounding areas such as South Burnett, Toowoomba, Gatton, and the Granite Belt. The club takes pride in nurturing talent and creating pathways for players to excel at a higher level.
In addition to its teams and programmes, Football Dalby runs the Kick-Off Programme (Squirts) for children aged 3 to 5. This programme runs for approximately eight weeks per season and serves as a fun and introductory experience for young children interested in football.
Football Dalby has several vacant positions, including Canteen Coordinator, Kick Off (Squirts) Coordinator, and Fundraising Coordinator. The club values volunteers and recognises that their support is indispensable to its operations. Members are encouraged to consider assisting in any way they can, ensuring the continued success of the club.
