To the Flyfishers' Club of Tasmania Inc! Established in 1955, we are Tasmania's leading flyfishing club and have recently celebrated our 50th anniversary. With around 120 active members from all walks of life, we are a diverse community of individuals who share a common passion for Tasmania's trout fishery, ecology, bushwalking, and the preservation of wilderness areas.
At the Flyfishers' Club of Tasmania, we actively promote ourselves in the wider community and participate in state and local community initiatives to promote angling in Tasmania. We believe that community involvement is crucial in maintaining a healthy Tasmanian fishery, fostering angling experiences with our youth, and highlighting flyfishing as an excellent and highly rewarding recreational activity.
Membership in our club offers the opportunity to engage with many like-minded fly fishers who share a common goal of broadening their experiences and pursuits with the long wand. We hold monthly club meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at our clubhouse located at 1-3 Chant Street in East Launceston. The meetings commence at 7:30pm and typically conclude before 10:00pm.
As a club, we also have various other activities and events that cater to our members' interests. We organise upcoming events such as fishing outings, fly tying workshops, and social gatherings. Our club shacks provide accommodation options for those looking for a convenient base during their flyfishing adventures. Additionally, our newsletters and articles keep members informed about the latest news, updates, and insights in the world of flyfishing.
Whether you are a seasoned fly fisher or just starting out, the Flyfishers' Club of Tasmania is a welcoming community that offers support, camaraderie, and opportunities to further explore and enjoy the art of flyfishing. We invite you to get in touch with us and become a part of our passionate and dedicated flyfishing community.
