The bit is not the approach taken by Evolving Horsemanship. Instead, they prioritise a partnership based on respect and trust. They aim to teach riders how to effectively communicate with their horse using body language and without the use of force.
Evolving Horsemanship offers lessons for both beginners and advanced riders. These lessons can be conducted at the client's property or at the Evolving Horsemanship facility with one of their educated school horses. The club emphasises catering to all ages and levels of experience.
In addition to lessons, Evolving Horsemanship provides clinics for those seeking a deeper understanding of their horse's behaviour and a desire for improved collection. These clinics focus on achieving true communication and lightness with the horse, both on the ground and under saddle. By incorporating a holistic approach that combines horse and human psychology, natural horsemanship, and classical dressage, attendees can solve problems or progress to the next level of collection. To host a clinic, a safe facility and a minimum of three friends are required.
For those unable to attend in person, Evolving Horsemanship offers virtual lessons. These virtual lessons allow riders to send in written questions or footage of themselves and their horse for feedback and guidance. The club is also developing a Home Study Course, which will include instructional videos and PDFs covering various topics such as horse behaviour and psychology, training methods, safe and balanced riding, and advanced groundwork techniques. The course will also include virtual lessons and the opportunity to have written questions answered.
Evolving Horsemanship also offers demonstrations of classical dressage, high school work, and trick training upon request. These demonstrations are suitable for Pony Clubs, Adult Riding Clubs, schools, and show days.
The underlying philosophy of Evolving Horsemanship combines classical dressage, natural horsemanship, equine behaviour principles, and scientifically proven training methods. The club believes in the application of simple and easy-to-learn approaches that prioritise the horse's well-being and overall partnership with the rider. They aim to provide the most effective and humane approach to being with horses, promoting respect and trust as the foundation of their training principles.
