Evans Head Amateur SportFishing Club Inc. is a sports club located in the beautiful Richmond Valley Council. The club holds its meetings on the first Tuesday night of each month at 7:30pm. The venue for these meetings is the Evans Head Bowling Club Auditorium.

One of the highlights of being a member of the Evans Head Amateur SportFishing Club is the monthly fishing outing. This outing takes place on the weekend following the monthly meeting. The winner of the monthly fishing outing is awarded a Certificate and given the opportunity to choose from a selection of fishing tackle. The club also has a highly competitive Catch & Release category. Each species caught can be counted in this category, as well as for ANSA Catch & Release Masters Claims.
Membership fees for the club are as follows: Senior Male or Female (16 years and over) is $20. 00, Junior Male or Female (9th to 16th birthday) is $5. 00, SubJunior Male or Female (up to 9th birthday) is $5. 00, and a Student (16 years and over who is a full-time student) is $10.
00. Families, including parents or single parents and any number of Juniors and SubJuniors, can join for $30. 00.
The Evans Head Amateur SportFishing Club is family-oriented and caters to members of all ages. There is even a division for those members who do not weigh in a legal species during the year. The club's presentation nights have been highly successful and enjoyable, and they take pride in fostering a sense of friendly competition among their members.
In addition to their regular activities, the club is heavily involved with the Seafarer/Evans Head Fishing Classic, which takes place in June. This event gives the club a high profile within the town and allows them to further promote their passion for sport fishing.
