Engarde at MacKillop Fencing Club

Engarde at Mackillop Fencing Club is a vibrant and inclusive sports club located in Canberra, Australia. The club operates in collaboration with St Mary Mackillop Catholic College and brings together fencers of all ages and skill levels.

The club meets on Monday nights from 7:00pm to 8:30pm during the school term. The venue is the Wanniassa campus Gym at Mackinnon St, Wanniassa. While the club is independent and open to the public, students of St Mary Mackillop College are offered a discounted membership rate.

Membership at Engarde at Mackillop is available to individuals aged 10 and older. All members are automatically enrolled as members of the ACT Fencing Association.

1. Beginner: This option is for those who are new to fencing. It covers a three-month period and includes the beginner's course and equipment hire. The fees are $130 for Mackillop students and $155 for non-Mackillop students.

2. Upgrade from Beginner: This option is for those who have completed the beginner's course and already have their own equipment. The fees are $60 for Mackillop students, $60 for non-Mackillop juniors (under 20), and $120 for seniors.

3. Full Member: This option is for experienced fencers who have their own equipment. The fees are $165 for Mackillop students, $190 for non-Mackillop juniors (under 20), and $260 for seniors.

Engarde at Mackillop also offers equipment hire for those who do not have their own gear. This includes a mask, plastron, jacket, lamé (for foil and sabre), and weapon. Equipment hire is available for a half-year period at $115 or a full-year period at $230.
