Encounter Freediving was founded in 2014, by husband and wife team Michael Bates and Emily Shaw, to provide specialist freediving equipment, courses, training, and trips. We are a South-East Queensland-based SSI Freediving Centre that offers regular freediving courses and training on the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Through our extensive freediving experience, we are able to offer expert freediving instruction, trips to some of the best freediving locations, and high quality products that we ourselves use. Our instructors are experienced freedivers, that are active within the freediving community, keeping up to date with the latest in freediving techniques, safety and equipment.
