About

Dungog Dressage Club, located in Dungog Shire Council, is a grassroots sports club that aims to create a supportive environment for riders of all levels. Whether you're a junior, amateur, or professional rider, the club welcomes you to compete together and develop your dressage skills.

The club offers a range of classes for riders at different levels, from closed restricted Preparatory to Preliminary, Novice, and Elementary. Prizes are awarded for Champion and Reserve Champion in categories such as Junior/Youth, Adult Amateur Owner Rider (AOR), and Open Preparatory. Ribbons are given out to sixth place, and these can be collected from the office.

When participating in Dungog Dressage Club events, it is important to adhere to EA dress rules and undergo gear check, where it is mandatory to display bridle numbers on both sides of the bridle or saddle pad.

In terms of logistics, scratchings can be accepted up to the closing date, while late entries are only allowed if there have been scratchings. Catering and purchases at the canteen are cash only, and there's the added bonus of coffee being available from the Coffee Goddess.

The club is grateful to its championship rug sponsors and prize sponsors, as their support contributes to the success of their events. In addition, the club encourages riders to enter competitions via Nominate.

Dungog Dressage Club also hosts various training days throughout the year. These sessions provide riders with the opportunity to ride and receive feedback from experienced EA judges. Some training days are designated for specific dressage levels, while others are protocol training days open to a range of levels.

The club is led by a dedicated committee, including President Anni Nightingale, Vice President Julie Swan, Secretary Julie Swan, Treasurer Julie Glasson, and Event Secretary Anni Nightingale. Other positions include Judge's Secretary Amanda Freund, Grounds Supervisor Belinda Wall, and General Committee members Meredith Rien and Naomi Hodge.
