Dragon Boat Victoria Inc

Dragon Boat Victoria is the state sporting authority for dragon boat racing in Victoria. We promote and facilitate participation in dragon boat racing at all levels across Victoria.

Dragon boat racing has cultural origins in ancient China and has evolved into a highly competitive sport right across the globe. Dragon Boat Victoria delivers regattas across metropolitan and regional Victoria. Our top event is the Victorian State Championships, held on Victoria Harbour, Docklands. The state championships prepare our crews for national racing at the annual Australia Dragon Boat Championships.

Dragon Boat Victoria continues to celebrate the origins of Our sport. This is particularly highlighted at our Chinese New Year event where you will see spectacular displays from the Chinese Dancing Dragons and Monks blessing the boats in the traditional Eye Dotting Ceremony out in the beautiful Melbourne sun. This 'awakens' the dragons for racing and ensures all who race within the boats are protected.

If you are a breast cancer survivor or one of their supporters, you may wish to consider joining a Dragons Abreast club.

Dragons Abreast Crews comprise breast cancer survivors (and some very special supporters) of various ages from a great variety of backgrounds, athletic abilities and interests. Dragons Abreast clubs are founded on the principles of participation and inclusiveness, with a competitive outcome as secondary.
