Derwent Pony Club is based at the Kensington Park Equestrian Centre in New Norfolk and meets on the third Sunday of each month for a rally. Our members come from all over southern Tasmania, from Ouse to the Tasman Peninsula and vary in age and riding abilities. Derwent Pony Club was first established in March 1995 and our current District Commissioner is Sharon Taylor, with Joanna Jones as our Assistant District Commissioner.
Our little club is willing to have a go at anything, and we host and attend many Pony Club and non Pony Club events during each season. We compete at the State Eventing Trials, State Dressage Championships, State Showjumping Championships, Southern and State Games, the Royal Hobart Show as well as many other ODE's and club days.
We are a very close-knit club, with parents, friends, and riders always willing to lend a hand, whether its to help a younger rider saddle up, set out lunch or move show jumps. Furthermore, we are always willing to help each other out and welcome members, new and old.
