The Curtin Saints American Football Club is a prestigious sports club based in Perth, Western Australia. Offering a range of teams including Juniors, Women, and Men, the club competes in the Gridiron West League each season. With a proud and strong history, the Curtin Saints have experienced both the highs of championships and the lows of mediocre seasons.
The club was formed in 1994, amalgamating the Eastside “Vikings” and the Curtin “Razorbacks”. The team colours of White, Black, and Gold were chosen through a team vote. In their inaugural season, the Saints made an immediate impact by reaching the League Grand Final, falling just short of victory due to a missed field goal in the dying seconds, but finishing as Runners Up.
The 1995/96 season proved to be a turning point for the Curtin Saints, as they were able to capture the Gridiron West Champions title, finally achieving a win in the finals. Building on their success, the team repeated their championship victory in the 1996/97 season, securing their spot as two-time champions.
Though not able to clinch the championship in the 1997/98 season, the Curtin Saints once again proved their might by reaching the finals. In the new millennium, the Saints had a successful season in 1999/00, losing only once during the regular season. Making their way to the Grand Final, they were unable to bring home the victory but finished as runners-up.
The club's commitment to the sport and excellent recruitment efforts have contributed to its current growth and success. With hard work off the field and the support of dedicated individuals, the Curtin Saints look forward to creating a bright future with the involvement of its players and supporters.
