Corroboree Little Athletics is a sports club in Canberra that offers athletics programmes for individuals of all ages, from 3 to 103 years old. Their main goal is to promote healthy living and provide a fun-filled competition environment for athletes of all abilities. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Tradies in Dickson, Corroboree is proud to offer a Tiny Tots programme specifically designed for 3 and 4-year-olds every Wednesday afternoon.
For seniors (17 and above) who join Corroboree, they have the opportunity to compete as part of Corroboree in Capital Athletics events. In addition, the club organises a couple of events every Saturday morning at the conclusion of the regular programme. This inclusive approach allows both first-time athletes and seasoned competitors to participate and enjoy a wide range of athletic events, including sprinting, middle-distance running, hurdling, walking, jumping (long, triple, and high), and throwing (discus, shot put, and javelin).
Corroboree Little Athletics' home ground is the Dickson Playing Fields in the North of Canberra. They hold their weekly meets on Saturday mornings from October to March, providing a consistent and accessible schedule for athletes and their families. The club has received several notable achievements, including being named the ACTLAA Centre of the Year in 17-18, 20-21, and 21-22, winning the U6-U8 Teams Challenge Champions in 20-21, 21-22, and 22-23, and becoming the ACT Relay Champions in 20-21, 21-22, and 22-23.
Corroboree Athletics values communication with its members and followers. In the event of meet cancellations due to poor conditions, they promptly update their website, as well as their X and Facebook accounts, to inform everyone as early as possible. The club also organises various upcoming meets, High Noon/Summer Series events, and carnivals, which are posted on their website for easy reference.
To stay updated with Corroboree's events and activities, individuals can subscribe to the club's calendar on their phone or computer. By selecting their preferred age group, they will receive regular updates and reminders about upcoming events that align with their interests and participation level. The website also features a news section that highlights recent happenings within the club, including important announcements and tributes to influential members.
Corroboree Little Athletics is grateful for the support of their sponsors, including Little Athletics Australia and Capital Athletics, as their contributions play a significant role in enabling the club to provide quality programmes and events to its members.
