Connells Point Netball Club (CPNC) is a thriving sports club located in Sydney, Australia. The club boasts a diverse and multicultural membership base, and is dedicated to introducing new members to the sport of netball each year.
With a history spanning over 60 years, CPNC has played a significant role in providing opportunities for girls and women in the local area. Formerly affiliated with the St George District Netball Association, the club has achieved numerous accolades and has produced local and state representatives.
In 2020, CPNC set a record by registering 38 teams in the SSNA club competition, showcasing the growing popularity and success of the club. Thanks to the support of the Georges River Council and Mark Coure MP, the club secured funding of over $1 million, enabling the completion of new amenities block, a club storage area, and a second hard court with tiered seating for spectators. These enhancements have created a safer and more convenient space for club members and the wider community.
CPNC also introduced the #SummerSeries in 2020/2021, which offered 10 weeks of training, skill development, and fun over summer. The programme featured appearances from current Suncorp Super Netball players, former Australian Diamonds, sub-elite netballers from the Sutherland Stingrays, and accredited elite-level coaches. Participants had the option to use their Active Kids Voucher for free participation or pay a nominal fee of $100.
A highlight for the club in 2021 was the unveiling of a new club uniform. This fresh uniform caters to all players and reflects CPNC's commitment to inclusivity and innovation. It is the first time in over 10 years that the club has introduced a new playing outfit, showcasing their dedication to providing a comfortable and confident playing environment for all members. CPNC is proud to be the first club in the district to cater to members with varied religious customs, and also emphasises recognition and honouring of the traditional owners of the area.
The 2019 season marked a milestone for CPNC, as the club achieved representation in the highly competitive A grade in every single age group. This significant achievement demonstrated the growth and development of the club, from initially joining the Sutherland competition in 2008 with just one A Reserve graded team.
CPNC has established partnerships with local businesses for uniforms and merchandise, further enhancing the club's brand and sense of community.
By subscribing to CPNC's updates and staying connected, members and supporters can stay informed about the latest news, upcoming events, and resources offered by the club. With a dedication to inclusivity, skill development, and community engagement, Connells Point Netball Club continues to thrive and make a positive impact within the netball community in Sydney.
