About
Our league started up in June 2010 by Jade Simpson who after watching Whip it decided to join up training with NRRD and re-learnt to skate after 15 years.
She then met up with Belinda Skelton, and they thought what a great idea to have a local league here in Yamba, so the pair started a social skate to raise awarness about Roller Derby in the community.
Starting off with two members the league started growing slowly. This is a great achievement for a small country community. And as the fresh meat skaters have been coming in joining us these numbers will only grow.
• HIGHLIGHTS and ACHEIVMENTS – CVRDL have only started bouting in October 2011 and have played three games so far winning two out of three.
• We held Clash of the tartans in 2010 with SSRG putting on a demo bout for the community.
• CVRDL have taken part in community events to attract attention about Roller Derby. Some of these were the Jacaranda Parade held in Grafton. The Yamba hot-rod run and street show. And a Dine and Derby night.
CVRDL regard ourselves as a very friendly and unique club with strong values and most important of all we want to have fun and work well as team.
