The Christian Motorcyclists Association of Australia (VIC) is a sports club located in Moira Shire, Victoria. This club is made up of bikers who love to ride and are also Christians growing in their faith. The CMA Victoria aims to encourage Christian riders in their God-given ministries and provides them with the opportunity to belong to something bigger without the strict regulations and requirements typically found in a Motorcycle Club.
The club welcomes all types of riders, regardless of the type of bike they ride – cruiser, scooter, trike, sportsbike, or tourer. Even those who are not currently riding are welcome to join in on their events.
The CMA Victoria organises local rides, where area co-coordinators plan and arrange set rides around the country. During these rides, members are encouraged to invite their friends and meet at a designated time and place. Experienced members are designated to lead the ride, ensuring the safety of all participants.
Several times a year, the club organises combined rides, where riders from all areas come together in one central location to catch up. These rides can be 3–4 hours long, making it a full-day ride for some members. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet and get to know other members from different parts of Victoria.
Once a year, the CMA Victoria enjoys a weekend away together at their state “Gathering of Bikers. ” Riders from all over the state come together for this event, and it is a time of fellowship and camaraderie. Accommodation options such as camping, dormitories, or cabins are provided.
Additionally, once a year, the club participates in the national CMA run, which moves from one state to another annually. This event is followed by a post-run tour, where participants spend 3–4 days riding, using a caravan park as their base. This provides a great opportunity to explore different parts of Australia and meet members from other states.
During the winter months when riding may not be suitable due to cold and wet weather, the club organises social events to keep members engaged and connected. These events allow members to catch up with one another and invite friends, regardless of the weather conditions.
Another important aspect of the CMA Victoria is their commitment to promoting faith and Christian values. Members are encouraged to visit churches around the country to promote CMA and encourage individuals to grow in their faith. The club also conducts Church Raids, during which they ride to a town, stay overnight, and participate in church services by providing testimonies and sharing messages. They even offer to take locals for a ride on their bikes, which is always a hit.
The CMA Victoria also runs the Bikes for Pastors Appeal, an annual fundraising initiative aimed at supporting Christian ministries in developing countries. The funds raised are used to purchase motorcycles for pastors working in rugged terrains, where their ministry includes evangelism, pastoral care, and church planting.
