Chinese Kung Fu Academy - Noosa is a sports club located in Sunshine Coast, Australia, offering training in Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Established in 1958, it is the oldest Kung Fu school in Australia and has since expanded its reach throughout the country and beyond. The academy's Sifu, 9th Degree Grandmaster Henry Sue, began his martial arts training at the age of 11 in the Praying Mantis Style of Kung Fu. Under the tutelage of Master Nat Yuen, a 9th degree Gold Belt in Hong Kong, he trained for over 56 years and has been teaching martial arts for over half a century.
Grandmaster Sue personally teaches five times a week, providing an immersive and hands-on learning experience.
Chinese Kung Fu Academy - Noosa distinguishes itself with Henry Sue's Circular Tong Long, a unique fighting style that combines the devastating power of Kung Fu with the graceful circular movements of Tai Chi. This fusion has resulted in a pure and practical fighting system, ensuring students are equipped with effective self-defence techniques. The academy aims to create a safe and challenging training environment that promotes self-discipline and motivation. Through their Kung Fu or Tai Chi training, students not only acquire incredible skills but also improve their fitness and overall health.
The academy welcomes individuals of all ages and fitness levels, offering a diverse range of classes to cater to different needs and goals. These include Kung Fu for adults, as well as the Young Mantis class for children aged 7-12. Tai Chi classes are also available, providing mental and physical benefits such as increased relaxation, improved balance, and enhanced focus. Additionally, the academy offers lion dancing classes, providing a cultural and performance-focused aspect of Chinese martial arts.
