Chinese Kung Fu Academy - Caloundra, located in the Sunshine Coast of Australia, is a sports club that specialises in teaching Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Established in 1958, it is the oldest Kung Fu school in Australia and has grown to multiple locations throughout the country and abroad.
The academy is led by 9th Degree Grandmaster Henry Sue, who has over 56 years of martial arts experience and has been teaching for over half a century. He began training in the Praying Mantis Style of Kung Fu at the age of 11 under the guidance of Master Nat Yuen. Under Grandmaster Sue's leadership, the Academy offers a unique and practical fighting style called Henry Sue's Circular Tong Long, which combines the principles of Tai Chi with Kung Fu to create a powerful and effective system of self-defence.
At Chinese Kung Fu Academy - Caloundra, students of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to join. Whether you are a young child or an adult seeking to enhance your health and well-being, the academy has programmes tailored to meet your goals. Classes offered include Kung Fu, Young Mantis (for kids aged 7-12), Tai Chi, and Lion Dance.
All instructors at the academy are accredited with the Australian Kung Fu and Wushu Federation (AKWF). They undergo thorough training and examination in sport-specific martial arts coaching and hold current Blue Cards, which allow them to teach children. In addition, instructors are required to maintain a First Aid Certificate. The academy follows a strict Instructors Code of Conduct to ensure the safety and security of all students.
