The Central Districts Rugby League Club was first established in 1976 and based their home at Uley Road (Elizabeth Downs) in 1977. Over the years the club has changed names several times and is now known as the Central Districts Rugby League Club located at Argana Park on the corner of Main North Road and Midway Road, Elizabeth Downs.
The club was successful in winning the inaugural First Grade Grand Final in 1976. They have been First Grade Grand Final winners in 1989 – 1990 and runner-ups in numerous Grand Finals. The First Grade side has recently won the 2012 Minor premiership and leadingship and went undefeated in 2013 and securing back-to-back Minor topships and premierships. The Juniors have also been very successful as Grand Finalist and runners-up on many occasions.
Central Districts Junior Rugby League Club have been the recipient of the prestigious South Australian Rugby League Inc. 'Club of the Year' awards in 1994 (Senior), 1997 (Junior), 1998 (Junior) and more recently 2008 (Junior & Senior).
