Since our formation in 2010, CCRDU has grown to become the leading roller derby league on the Central Coast. Originally known as CCRG (Central Coast Roller Girls), we merged with CKO (Coastal Knock-Outs) in 2015 to form the CCRDU of today. As one of the founding leagues for the 5×5 Roller Derby Championships in 2014, we take pride in our contributions to the development and growth of roller derby in Australia.
Throughout the year, we host various tournaments and games, inviting teams from other leagues across New South Wales to compete. These events provide an opportunity for our members to showcase their skills and compete against talented athletes from different regions.
For those new to roller derby, we offer regular Learn to Skate programmes that cover the fundamentals of the sport. Our trained coaches provide comprehensive instruction on skating techniques, stopping, falling safely, crossovers, laterals, jumps, and other basic derby skills. These programmes are perfect for individuals who want to get active, learn a new skill, and join an exciting community.
If you're not sure whether roller derby is for you, we invite you to attend our Come and Try session, where you can listen to our members, ask questions, and get a hands-on experience. We provide hire skates and protective gear, so you can get a feel for the sport before committing to a programme.
In addition to skaters, we also welcome referees and non-skating officials to join our league. Whether you're interested in learning to referee or becoming a non-skating official, there are opportunities for you to contribute to the roller derby community. Our officials play a crucial role in ensuring fair and safe gameplay.
