We play a summer sport (Oct-Mar) We train at Charles McLaughlin Reserve in Crestwood. On Saturdays in summer we play at two separate grounds that are within 15 minutes drive of one another. Each division will play at the same time and ground every week. The normal practise is for all the Junior teams and some Ladies teams to play at Seven Hills International Peace Park and for the higher Grade Ladies teams and the Mixed Division teams to play at Stanhope Gardens.
The Juniors play on a Saturday morning before the summer heat builds up.
Mens division teams play on a Friday night, junior teams usually start with teeball before progressing to modball and ultimately live-pitch. Depending on numbers teeball teams are either girls, boys or mixed. Softball is a great first sport for children to start playing. Before each summer season we hold a gala day for players to meet their team-mates and coach with some fun games as an introduction to the sport.
Our club works hard to minimise the start-up costs for junior players trying the sport for the first time. We also subsidise the cost of special pitcher-training for our junior players.
