Carolan School of Ballet, located in Crafers - Bridgewater, is a prestigious sports club offering a range of ballet classes for dancers of all ages and abilities. The school's primary aim is to foster an understanding and love of the art of classical ballet, while also helping students develop their technique, poise, and confidence. Above all, Carolan School of Ballet focuses on ensuring that all students enjoy their ballet journey.
The school is led by Carole Hall, a highly accomplished and esteemed ballet professional. Carole's lifelong passion for ballet began at the age of eleven when she successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet School in London. She trained at the Junior School for five years before moving on to the Senior School for another three years. During her training, Carole had the opportunity to perform in various student and regular performances of The Royal Ballet Company and the Opera Ballet at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
Carole's career led her to Sadler’s Wells Opera Ballet, where she toured the British Isles and Europe for three years. Eventually settling in Australia after her marriage, Carole performed on television and with the Australian Ballet. She began her teaching career under the guidance of Miss Valrene Tweedie O. M and later opened the Carolan School of Ballet in February 1973 in Adelaide.
Carole obtained her teaching qualifications, became an examiner, and has examined and taught throughout Australia and internationally.
The classes offered at Carolan School of Ballet cater to dancers at various levels. From babies to pre-primary, primary, grade 1-6, intermediate and advanced levels, the school provides a structured curriculum that is suitable for dancers of all ages and abilities. Students also have the opportunity to pursue the Enrico Cecchetti Diploma and all Teaching qualifications.
To maintain a professional and cohesive aesthetic, the school has specific uniform requirements. Babies, pre-primary, and primary students are required to wear a pale blue v neck leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and a pale blue net skirt (purchased through the school). Grades 1-6 wear a navy blue v neck leotard, while the major level dancers wear a navy camisole leotard.
