Pride, the Campbelltown City Hockey Club is dedicated to providing a fun and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels. Located in Sydney, the club's home ground is at the Macarthur Hockey Complex, situated in the Narellan Sports Hub on Millwood Ave in Narellan.
The club welcomes players of all ages, from five to seventy-five, and offers obligation and cost-free “come and try” sessions for anyone interested in giving hockey a go. They even have special “bootcamp” sessions tailored for older players. All school-aged children are invited to try hockey, with the club providing hockey sticks and shin pads (participants only need to bring their sneakers and a mouthguard).
New junior players under 11 years old are treated to a free hockey kit upon registration payment. Additionally, Campbelltown City Hockey Club is registered with the NSW Government for the Active Kids programme, allowing players attending school to be eligible for the Active Kids Bonus.
Training is held on Wednesdays from mid-February, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. They offer different categories of play, including Minkey Hockey (modified game) for players aged 5 to 8, played on Saturday mornings. Under 11's and Under 13's play on Saturdays, while Under 15's and 18's play on Friday nights. Ladies games are held on Saturday afternoons, and men's games are played on Sundays.
To sign up for the club, register, and pay fees, it is a simple two-step process. Firstly, all players must sign on each season with the club, providing updated contact details and personal security information. This allows the club to send updated game and training messages, with the option to join the club's restricted Facebook page. Registration and fee payments are then made to Hockey Australia, Hockey NSW, the Metropolitan South West Hockey Association (Macarthur), and Campbelltown City Hockey Club.
Club fees cover game and training costs, as well as operating costs. The committee aims to minimise club fees for players, ensuring they only cover the necessary costs. The club is proud of its history, having been one of the founding clubs of the Macarthur competition since 1973. Over the years, the club has fostered the skills of many players and developed strong friendships within their team environment.
Campbelltown City Hockey Club is excited to welcome new, returning, or experienced players for the 2023 season. They encourage everyone to come and try hockey, join their thriving community, and be a part of the club's rich history and vibrant future. For more information on how to access the hockey complex or details about the club and hockey, interested individuals can easily contact the club through their website or social media channels.
