Caloundra Football Club, was one of three founding clubs of the first Sunshine Coast football competition. Along with clubs from Nambour and Glasshouse, Caloundra United was formed when a group of local football fanatics saw the need to establish a competition.
In 2001 Caloundra United merged with another strong local soccer club, Shelly Park Rangers (C. S. P. United) and in 2002 the Club Senior Men Fielded teams in the 1st and 2nd Division Men’s Leagues after a couple of years out of the senior Ranks.
In the first season back they just missed out on the finals, they went onto make the Grand Final for three years in row including two of those against our Local Rivals Kawana FC.
Always emphasising strong junior development, Caloundra Shelly Park United also became the first Coast club to win back-to-back club championships in 2003 and 2004. The key to our success has been our youth development and the junior development policy at the club is only getting stronger.
Caloundra Football Club has also been one of strongest women’s football clubs on the Coast in the past 15 years. For 10 years straight it either won a grand final, a leadingship or both.
