Burwood Uniting Canterbury Cricket Club is one of the biggest cricket clubs in Melbourne's inner east. With a strong focus on being family-oriented, the club prides itself on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
Located at Lynden Park in Camberwell, the club has three local fields and also utilises Coopers Field, which is just a short walk away. This provides ample playing space for the club's five senior teams that will be competing in the Eastern Cricket Association's 2020-21 season. Team selections are announced on Facebook and Team App after training at the club on Thursdays.
Membership at Burwood Uniting Canterbury Cricket Club is open to anyone interested in playing cricket. Those who are interested can get in contact with the Cricket Manager, any member of the committee, or simply turn up to a training session at Lynden Park. The club welcomes players of all standards.
For the 2020-21 season, membership fees will be announced after the Annual General Meeting, which takes place in July. Further details can be obtained from the Cricket Manager or Treasurer directly or at training.
The club also has a strong focus on developing junior players. Junior Registrations are currently open for the 2020-21 season, as well as for the “Junior Blasters” programme that begins in January 2021. Junior Blasters is a programme designed for children new to cricket, allowing them to build their skills through fun, game-based activities. Once they have mastered the basics, they can progress to Master Blasters or move into junior cricket.
More information and registration for juniors can be found on the club's Juniors web page or the My Cricket registration page.
Training nights for seniors take place on Tuesdays from 6:00pm and Thursdays from 5:30pm. The training schedule for juniors is to be determined. The club can be easily contacted through their Facebook page or TeamApp.
In addition to cricket, Burwood Uniting Canterbury Cricket Club also organises various events throughout the year. These events range from trivia nights to fundraising initiatives such as the Junior Players Mental Health Programme. Details about upcoming events can be found on the club's website and social media pages.
For further information or inquiries, the contact details for the club's Treasurer, Cricket Manager, and Junior Manager are provided. The club also encourages all new players to join and be a part of the vibrant Burwood Uniting Canterbury Cricket Club community.
