Burleigh Cricket Club, located in Gold Coast, is a sports club with a rich history and a strong focus on competitiveness, fair sportsmanship, and maintaining a supportive environment for all its members. Managed as an integrated Junior and Senior Cricket Club, Burleigh Cricket Club offers a range of programmes for both seniors and juniors.
For the upcoming 2022/23 season, the club will have teams playing in all divisions, ranging from 1st XI to 3rd XI, in the Taper Financial Gold Coast Cricket Association premier League. The club also has Veterans Cricket Teams that compete in Division 2 and 3 of the Over 40s Competition. In addition, Burleigh Cricket Club has teams in the Gold Coast Junior Cricket Association for Under 11s, Under 12s, Under 13s, Under 14s, and Open Turf Juniors.
The club is not only focused on competitive cricket but also contributes to the future development of the sport. Burleigh Cricket Club runs Cricket Australia endorsed programmes for junior players, including Woolworths Junior Blasters and Woolworths Master Blasters (u10s), which are led by dedicated volunteers from the club.
Founded in 2006, Burleigh Cricket Club may be one of the newest clubs in the Cricket Gold Coast competition, but it has already made a significant impact. After some limited success in lower grades, the club was crowned 2nd Grade premiers in the 2011/12 season. This achievement led to an invitation to participate in the 1st Grade competition, where the best twelve clubs from across the Gold Coast region compete for the Kookaburra Cup. In the 2017/18 season, the club made history by qualifying for finals cricket in 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade.
The ultimate achievement came when 1st Grade won the coveted Kookaburra Cup, marking a meteoric rise for the club from its humble beginnings just twelve seasons earlier.
